FreeFlight is a 3D open-world flight simulator where you control a gliding paper plane. The goal is to travel as far as possible without crashing into buildings or hitting the ground. Players can soar through rings for speed boosts or glide over air vents to gain altitude and keep the momentum going.
Developed for my I M 388: Game Design II – Prototyping class, I focused primarily on implementing the plane’s movement system using Blueprints, and also worked on visual effects like the wind trail behind the plane.
This was one of my first projects in Unreal Engine 5, and my team and I aimed to create a polished, mechanically satisfying prototype. We hoped it could inspire other students to build on it, and honestly, I still think it has real potential to turn into something amazing.
